~6.5/10- Good but not great
I would have liked more but I am satisfied enough for what it is, with a price that is not unreasonable.
(This is also included with the "Gold Edition" as the 1st of 3 expansions/DLCs)
The DLC is a single quest-line that took me about 10-12 hours. The rewards are more for aesthetics, with some gear that is helpful early game. Notably you can customize the paintings on your shields, personally this is pretty "meh" because i like 2-handing a longsword (without a shield) and KCD2 is primarily in first person view... meaning you are only seeing the shield you customized in some angles in dialogue and some cut-scenes. It would be great if you could paint plate armor rather than just shields. But the quest-line does bear interesting characters and narratives. (as well as a unique armor is obtained in a very amusing way.)
My only issue with the DLC is that there are certain quest moments that don't trigger while I am literally standing on top of the objectives, staring right at it and practically humping the thing i need to interact with... having to dance around the quest marker until it fiiiiiiiiiinally triggers Henry's dialog before the game allows me to continue. Mildly annoying, but annoying none the less
The point is I was entertained for more than 10 hours with a quest-line that unravels the history of a tormented artist. The price isn't bad for what you get, and this DLC isn't necessary for KCD2 generally. It doesn't significantly improve the game, but it does give you a little bit more to do in a already amazing game. I wouldn't necessarily stress getting this; it generally passes as "good" (if not "okay") DLC.
