While not the best Fallout 4 DLC, there's something for everyone in Nuka-World: settlement stuff, new weapons, locations, quests, enemies, and some fluff about Nuka Cola lore which was at times fun to explore. It just may be a poor value proposition because it is one of the weaker DLC entries.
+ great writing
+ quest chain is entertaining
+ has a different vibe to the main game
- amount of content is lacking a little

Everything in Nuka-World has a flavor that is distinctly Nuka-World and not found in the base game or other DLCs. You find neon-colored spray-painted weapons and armor, lots of interesting characters with funky outfits and hairstyles, it feels like a punk apocalypse rather than an atomic apocalypse, more Tank Girl than what we'd find in Fallout previously. It has such a distinct style that made Nuka-World immediately compelling to me.
The DLC does split focus on settlement stuff, factions, and the main story (which is very faction oriented), so it's a nice mix and has something for everyone. You'll have to be careful, though, because a lot of what you can do in this DLC affects the Commonwealth at large (in particular the Minutemen), so it's a DLC I'd do very last in your Fallout 4 journey. Consequences can mess up your progress with the base game factions, so be mindful, although if you skip the settlement stuff, you shouldn't run into issues.
Nuka-World has a lot of tedium related to quests that I found annoying. A lot of the content is generated ad-hoc rather than curated experiences: while you have the main story quest chain that takes a few hours, the brunt of side content is similar to how in the base game, eventually you run out of Minutemen quests and the game begins to generate low-effort low-stakes content for it. That's 80% of Nuka-World and it's a shame because the new areas are quite cool to explore, just lacking a compelling reason to explore it (other than exploration's sake I guess).
I liked the main quest, the new weapons and armor, and loved the new area, it just felt lacking in content. Granted it is much more content than Automatron and at the same price, but it's nothing compared to Far Harbor for example. The DLC didn't have a lot of staying power because there wasn't much reason to stick around, unfortunately. I'd recommend it, but it wouldn't be my first choice of DLC content to buy.
