Bad jokes aside, Resident Evil is one of my favorite franchises, and I think it's great that they finally brought along a dlc to DBD that incorporates two (technically four) popular characters and one mean BOW: Leon, Jill, and Nemesis. Leon and Jill both have two costumes each (one legendary, one purple) and Nemesis didn't launch with any other skins than his standard look. The legendary skins turn Leon into Chris Redfield, and Jill into Claire Redfield (Claire's face is probably the scariest thing in DBD rn with how the in game model looks). The purple skins give Leon's RE4 outfit, and Jill's old school RE3:NEMESIS outfit. The DLC also brings a new map, the Raccoon City Police Department, which is FREE to everyone even if they don't have this DLC. I would love to play it, but on launch it's not available due it being glitched and disabled :(. An Umbrella logo charm is also given to owners of this DLC.
Overall, I think the new characters and killer are fun to play. I'll start off with Nemesis and then I'll move to Leon and Jill.
Nemesis can smack survivors with his tentacle, infecting survivors with the T-Virus. NPC zombies are also added with the killer and roam the map, acting as respawning obstacles that can also infect and harm survivors. He can increase his mutation rate by smacking on survivors and killing zombies alike, allowing him to destroy pallets/walls at stage 2 and increasing his tentacle's reach at stage 3. Survivors can find vaccines in supply cases around the map to cure the T-Virus, although their availability is limited, and they show Nemesis where you are when used, so use them wisely! His perks are Lethal Pursuer, Hysteria, and Eruption. Lethal Pursuer allows him to see survivors at the start of the trial for a little bit. Hysteria applies the oblivious status effect to all survivors when someone is placed in the injured state. Eruption blows up every generator he's damaged that glows yellow, regressing them whilst afflicting survivors with the incapacitated status effect when they're repairing gens when he gets someone in the dying state.
Next is the one and only Leon S. Kennedy. With his Bite the Bullet perk, Leon can hide grunts of pain and other noises when healing, effectively being completely silent, even when failing a healing skill check. He can also create flashbangs and blind the killer with his perk Flashbang. With his final perk, Rookie Spirit, he can reveal the auras of all regressing generators on the map to himself after completing a certain number of good or great skill checks when repairing generators. If anyone plays Leon while wearing the Chris skin, your duty is to body block and tell Leon players that the Redfield bloodline must go on, bonus points if Claire is there as well.
Finally, we have ya girl Jill Valentine. With the perk Counterforce, Jill can cleanse totems faster. After cleansing a totem, the aura of the furthest totem from you will be shown for a little bit and you gain a speed bonus for cleansing other totems for the rest of the trial. With the perk Resurgence, she can immediately gain a decent bit of healing progress after being unhooked by a teammate or when you unhook yourself. With the last perk, Blast Mine, Jill installs a bomb on generators after you complete a percentage of overall generator repairs. It reveals their auras to all Survivors, and creates an explosion that stuns Killers if the trapped generator is damaged by them. She seems like a pretty alright survivor, just don't get turned into a Jill sandwich.
I hope this review helps anyone on the fence who aren't sure if they want it. I hope it can be enjoyed and that people have a fun time with it. People will have issues with it for sure, and that is completely fine, it's not perfect.
Nothing important but some things I would like to see that we probably won't get: Jill's RE1 outfit, an outfit for Nemesis that makes him into Mr. X or some other tyrant, an Ada Wong skin for Jill, and finally a Carlos or Barry skin for Leon.
