The campaign is very easy if you lower the difficulty in both base game arma 3 as well as the addon options, so much so I will be cranking it up for future attempts. The cutscenes (mostly map stuff or reels) are incredibly atmospheric and they do a right proper job of the ol briefing on each mission with lovely animations to explain everything. You select your position in the unit, whether a tank commander or a infrantryman and the positions are all correctly named with the callsigns and such which is neat and nice that you can spice up the mission by switching perspectives within the US forces.
There is only a US campaign at this time.
The units visually are on the same level as SOG Prarie Fire, sounds are pretty good but there are a few sounds here and there that are laughable.
Animation wise there are nice touches like you can open the window armor on a half track, or just the peep hole so you are less likely to get shot (sides not front, sadly no front window options).
Tanks are a disappointment because they are incredibly well detailed as far as the exteriors go, and there are plenty of options for things like RHINO (infantry plowing device?) and boxes/rucks, fenders and extended fenders etc. but the interiors are non existent. Thankfully you do get some 3d view ports and if you're in a tank that supports it you'll see the windows in the copula but other than tank destroyers which have open turrets usually there is no interior whatsoever. This is a small thing, functionally it doesn't matter but its one of the things that really set arma apart from other games with tanks when they updated their official gear with interiors, and you just don't get that here. There is no easy 8 but there IS a M4A3 with the 76 mm gun turret which is pretty close, though I've come to despise the 76mm turret as there is no machine gun on the commander's hatch and the AI does not know how to use it on their end so its rather useless. There is plenty of buggy behavior commanding tanks as well like the AI refusing to cancel target and cease fire, continueing to do both which really ticks me off but you can avoid this by using the gunner position, I would just prefer to command the tank as I hate 2d scopes that should've been depricated in the early 2010s on the gaming scene.
Overall I'd say between the uniforms, weapons, vehicles, 2x maps, and decor this is certainly worth the price.
If you've got any advice for commanding AI tanks in general and more specifically this DLC feel free to let me know in the comments.
