The US is a fun civilisation to play. They have a few unique units and also have an interesting Age up mechanic that's linked to the states of the country. When progressing to the next age, you'll have a choice between different states, each offering different bonuses if selected, which makes each match different from the last if you switch it up.
I really enjoyed messing around with the gunslingers & cowboys available through the saloon alongside the Ironclad ship, however, while the DLC is fun, this civilisation uses text to speech voices for a majority of units and as a result it's a jarring experience when audio is turned on.
Settlers saying Carpenter, Lumberjack, Hunter, Gatherer, Miner, Farmer & Builder in monotone Microsoft Sam text to speech alongside other units using other forms of text to speech, is not something I expected when purchasing.
I recommend the civilisation for their gameplay but would suggest picking it up on sale, as Microsoft obviously didn't care enough to invest in voice acting for an easily accessible language.
