Finally - the game is out. I have a long history with snowboarding games. What started out with Snowboard Kids on the N64 and multiple iterations of SSX on the PS2 which led to me - at age 12 - wanting to finally switch from skis to snowboard. However, for the last decade no game could bring back the feeling Snowboard Kids provided me with back then.
Cue Slopecrashers. This game offers everything a good arcade snowboard game needs: savage items, exciting and diverse race courses - and of course a plethora of tricks you can do on your board. But what makes this game really unique is its emphasis on stunts. With each successful stunt you gain a small amount of boost to your meter which then can be used (at any time!) to speed up for a short time - which can even be used to evade some of the items that the other racers throw at you.
And what can I say - I have only played an hour so far (and man did I get my ass beat) but this game is absolutely worth every penny. With Christmas now almost around the corner, I urge you to buy this game - hell, even gift it to your friends. I know how I will spend my upcoming Christmas holidays.
