Hindsight İnceleme (xOrbOfDeception)
I sobbed :c This game reminded me of the short story The Paper Menagerie by Ken Liu (which I broadly suggest people read, but in particular if you play this game and enjoy it).
Hindsight is a narrative-based point & click exploration game that focuses on a woman reflecting back on her life, and more specifically, her relationship to her mother. The story was a bit slow to become engaging, but the atmosphere/style of the game + the core gameplay mechanic kept me interested. And then I found myself being welcomed with a gut punch for the last ~25% of the game. There are some really interesting motifs sprinkled throughout the game that I suspect more attentive people will appreciate. The game explores themes such as familial love, misunderstandings related to displays of affection (e.g. the demonstration of care from a parent to a child that doesn't register as such for the child until they are old enough to understand it better), memory distortions from childhood to adulthood, grief, loss, finding one's way in life, personal meaning attributed to items, etc and does so in a thoughtful and relatable way, all the while being contained in a game that takes ~2 hours to complete.
If you enjoy narrative games and can appreciate a slow burn with a strong payoff, then this is worth a playthrough. That said, given its length and limited replayability, I suggest waiting to buy it on sale.
