Content & Replay Value
It took me 44+ hours to complete the main campaign, do scenarios and play through the Endless Run until I couldn't go any longer. The game requires you to have a second playthrough to fully get the achievements for each side of your decisions, so either be ready with an alternative save or be ready to start the game once more.


Is it worth buying?
Yes. This game offers you countless hours of replayability and fun. Decisions make this game interesting, non repetitive and worth going again. Definitely recommend playing scenarios as well, so picking DLC's at a discount could make your experience worth while.

Although this game isn't perfect and doesn't offer a complex and free city-building experience, on the survival aspect it does a great job. This game will be worth your time.


Frostpunk is a city-builder resource management game with heavy elements of survival and decision that make each choice difficult, yet interesting.

Frostpunk main features are city management, city building and resource management. Your decisions matter in shaping your relationship with other settlements and with your people. Your main task is to gain the favour of your people and maintain being a leader. You are required to keep their dissatisfaction down and their hope or motivation up as much as possible in order to keep them happy.

I've started this game back in 2020, but for some reason, I've stopped playing it for a while. I've returned recently to decide to finally play the rest of scenarios and get the remaining achievements. As I got again into it, it felt a bit tedious and slow, but as I've relearned the game mechanics, I realized that from a 2 hours gameplay I would invest 5 to 7 hours straight without even noticing the time.
This game offers the 4x effect where you keep saying to yourself "One more turn."

Out of all the other city builders out there, this game offers a unique and beautifully steampunk style that I can't help but to admire. It's beautifully detailed and although this game came a few years back, it still holds up.

The sound effects are clean, with a beautiful soundtrack that make the whole game experience feel unique and somewhat not boring. I've listened often times to other video game's main soundtrack playing over and over, but this game particularly does a great job at not feeling boring and making me wanna mute it.
📖 Story:
Rate: ★★★★☆
The game offers a great campaign story, where you're placed as mayor for a city that slowly is struggling more and more with resources and the constant decrease in temperature.
Alternative, the DLC scenarios offers a similar, but unique experience that are absolutely fun and worth checking out. I don't always recommend DLC's, but these ones particularly are nice.

This game can take a significant amount of time to complete. Now depending on your focus on the game you can spend from 10-15 hours on the main campaign to an endless amount of time if you choose to go with endless mode.

What this game has really special and interesting is that it's not meant for casual city-builder players and it's specifically tailored for hard-core management players that enjoy a challenging time. I can say I've repeated multiple times several scenarios until I finally got it. This game isn't forgiving, unless you're going to play this game on normal difficulty.

⭕Conclusion:
Frostpunk is an excellent survival and management city-builder that offers a unique experience that I'll never forget. I am excited to see the sequel coming up and I can't wait to try it.
If you've considered going for it's art direction, please consider it's difficulty spike in this one as it's not an easy game and for everybody.
In the end, this game offers the same type of effect 4X games offer, where I say to myself "One more turn." to end up to do 20 more after. Very addictive for those who like this type of games.
